This was a long day of driving. I was again surprised by the hundreds of miles of nothing.
We stayed the night before in a place called the East Bay RV Park outside of Provo, Utah. I did not care for it much. It was basically a big parking lot. It had very little grass and it was forbidden to walk the dog on the grass it did have. The place had a lot of rules. The bath house had a electronic keypad and automatic lights that came on when you entered the room. It was clean and orderly but
felt a bit like a prison.
This is a shot I took at the Great Salt Lake. We didn’t look around much. It didn’t do much for me.
This seemed to be the salt flats.
We saw this awesome looking sculpture along side the road. It was pretty big. I don’t yet know the name of it though we liked it very
much.
We were sick of this type of landscape after driving all day in it. We stayed last night at a terrible place in Fernley, NV. We were supposed to stay in Reno but the place was sold out. We later found out that Reno was filled with bikers. Some sort of rally or something. We ended up at a Best Western that had an Rv Park in back. This one was really a parking lot with electrical hookups. They didn’t even try to make it look like camping. It was a dump and most of the people there were trashy. The Wi-Fi also didn’t work and we had trouble sleeping because of a loud biker bar around the corner. I really don’t like Nevada. It seems like the whole state is filled with low lifes.
